Founded in January 2009, The Wisley Foundation (registered charity number: 1127848) was created to take a more strategic approach to the charitable funds raised by the members of The Wisley Golf Club.

The Foundation’s primary focus is to support small, local charities located in Surrey and surrounding counties whose work is to help and support all age groups in the Community who are in need. The Foundation seeks to work with charities on a specific project basis rather than general gift giving and wishes to be associated with measurable activities which can be reported back to The Wisley Golf Club members. Smaller charities whereby the Foundation’s contribution can make a significant difference will be favoured over larger organisations.

Surrey’s outstanding natural beauty and perceived wealth mask increasingly high levels of social deprivation. This combined with national and local government funding cuts has placed enormous pressure on the Third Sector to support those in need.
The Wisley Foundation has recognised its role within the local community and the need to continue to actively engage with and support these small local charities who work tirelessly to meet the needs of the entire Community.
The Trustees would like to thank all the members and staff of The Wisley who have helped raise over £1.3 million during the past fifteen years.
“We are all extremely proud of The Wisley Foundation as it allows Club members to give something back to the local community. The Foundation’s approach to support smaller local charities and Surrey-based projects which would otherwise not have access to funding is wholeheartedly supported by the Club’s Board.”
Ian West, Chairman The Wisley Golf Club plc
